pretty interesting stuff. the last one makes a lot of sense as most people can take standard Japan video equipment and use it in Canada/USA. Hence, they probably try to bargain with the bic/yodobashi instead :) ask bic/yodobashi for a PAL version and they’ll probably give detailed instructions to your store. :)

the vendor earnings is interesting… cheap people tend to stay away from sony. but how much are you factor in their decision? or is it because you tend to hang around the sony area?!

for the vendor dominance pie chart… just group all the 2 or less into one slice… too much visual junk the way it is now.

for the linear running total, is that line setup for your own personal goal? like you want to sell 20million yen worth of stuff at the end of this? did you have a personal sales goal (other than the one given to you)? do you have a new goal now? the linear line looks pretty abstract but if you had it set to your own goal, it would be more interesting, especially over longer term.

these are great charts! i commend you for such a thorough presentation.

however, i do agree with all of andrew’s comments. like him, i also wondered what the purpose of the ‘linear’ running total is? if u substitute a line for your quota, and another for your personal goal, which you can now set based on experience, that would be impressive.

also, i would change all ‘earnings’ to ’sales’ – earnings actually means something else (sales less all costs). and you shd always make the ‘internal’ labels match the title – don’t have ’sales’ in the title and ‘earnings’ in the label for the same thing.

the nationalities table is amazing! what is a ‘Kalibatian’ – is there really a country called Kalibatia? and correct the spelling of ‘Philippino’ – one el, three pees (3pl?)

what is pal and ntsc

PAL and NTSC are technical standards on how images are displayed on tv. Most of the world is PAL, but some of the (economically) larger nations such as North America, Japan, and a few other smaller nations use NTSC. Here’s a link that is a bit more specific about it:
