And Sony isn’t involved because…?
Salon has an interesting article about a coalition of tech companies working together to keep the “internet neutral” from cable’s big grip. For example:
“Imagine if you called 1-800-L.L.-Bean and your phone company said, ‘Sorry, we’re not going to connect your call because we have a deal with Land’s End.’” For telephone service, that would be preposterous; the phone company is prevented both by laws and by customer outrage from limiting your calls to specific phone numbers.
Now what I want to know is why Sony isn’t helping out with any of this? With its fingers on practically every part of the broadband chain that gets entertainment to the customer, it seems there’s an inherent interest in keeping broadband access neutral to.
Oh I forgot, it’s just a Japanese manufacturing company.
