Idei’s plans to gradually ‘westernize’ Sony are starting to solidify.

Sony currently assigns seven grades that are closely linked to employees’ years of service. It takes an average university graduate about 10 years to attain the highest grade. Under the new system, it is possible for a capable worker to achieve the top grade in a few years.
