iTunes Mixing

Have some spare time and want to make your own DJ-style mix? Think you need some fancy-schmancy app like Toast with Jam? Well, it might make your life easier, but iTunes can pretty much serve the same purpose.

Turns out if you go to the Options tab in the Get Info window for a song, you can set the start and stop times for a track. Combine this with the cross-fading option under Preferences and with a little personlized beat-matching, you can make a non-stop set and burn it to a CD. Not bad for a free app that also manages your entire music collection.

I am also interested to know how to burn a mix including the cross fade. iTunes seems to remove cross fade when you burn a CD. Any ideas?

    Thanks

You could capture the iTunes mix at it plays using Audio Hijack Pro and burn that to CD – I’ve put more about tips about doing it this way at my music mix site: http://www.spacebeats.net/submit.html
