Analog sharing

Placeholder for something Sony needs to think, if not at least realize, about where the economy, business, and consumer culture is going thanks to the ubiquity of the internet because we all know even the profitable and headline-making division of our business doesn’t have a Strategy for online ContEnt distribution.

Y Combinator: Summer Founders Program

« 30 March 2005 | 16:57 | Internet, biznomics, diary | No Comments »

I wish something like this had existed back when I was hunting for summer internships. While I thoroughly enjoyed the summer projects and places I worked as an intern, an incubator environment with as much freedom as the SFP program is promising sounds incredible! Awesome idea. Poke around Paul Graham’s site for [...]

Matt-radamus on a roll

« 25 March 2005 | 11:59 | Japan, diary | No Comments »

Back in September 2003, I predicted that Tokyo would be bidding for the Summer Olympics in either 2016, 2020, or 2024 (original post). Well, damn I’m good.

Doom. 3. Whoa.

« 15 March 2005 | 19:12 | diary, geekery | 1 Comment »

Uh oh. I thought I was done with computer games. Now, as if my social life wasn’t already in jeapordy with work and online projects, Doom3 (finally!) comes out. I remember freshman year in college initially being the only one who used the mouse playing DoomII/Quake/QuakeII. Floormates thought I was nuts. [...]

この企業の男と「結婚したい」!?

« 12 March 2005 | 2:20 | Japan, diary, sonystyle, the sexes | 2 Comments »

Talk about low barriers to entry!

Whoa, I feel like a guineapig testbed experimenting with just how easy it is to setup a personal server with the Mac Mini. Everything is so easy, literally clicking buttons, and now I officially have my own internet radio station courtesy of Rogue Amoeba’s Nicecast player. This thing rocks! Here’s my setup:

A network [...]

Wordpress + Gmail mobile blogging

« 7 March 2005 | 1:40 | Internet, diary, geekery | 25 Comments »

Update 10/20/06: I no longer maintain these files, so plan to use them at your own risk.
While Wordpress’ email blogging feature is nice and handy, it unfortunately doesn’t work with secure pop3 access, which is ideally how you access your account. This means anyone wanting to use their Gmail accounts, couldn’t. John Blade’s [...]

Beatallica

« 4 March 2005 | 14:35 | diary, humour, media, music, sonystyle | No Comments »

Register is reporting Sony trying to stop Beatallica. Sad. Their creations definitely top my list of mashups. These are the real deal; not just splicing together tracks with some EQ’ing and a beat-matcher - this is true parody composition and performance. Amazing stuff.
So, what does one do if in such disagreement [...]

OSX tips

From Slashdot:
I like OS X, but every time I’ve used it I am amazed that Home/End doesn’t work properly.
Create a file ~/Library/KeyBindings/DefaultKeyBinding.dict with this content:
/* Home/End keys like Windows */
{
“\UF729″ = “moveToBeginningOfLine:”; /* home */
“\UF72B” = “moveToEndOfLine:”; /* end */
“$\UF729″ = “moveToBeginningOfLineAndModifySelection:”; /* shift + home */
“$\UF72B” = “moveToEndOfLineAndModifySelection:”; /* shift + end */
}
I need [...]
