Flickr Upload Limit
I gotta say, this Flickr thing is quite the service. After doing a fresh install of Tiger on my personal server box, I decided to give it a try. The idea of installing the open source project Gallery just didn’t appeal to me after hearing my friend Paul had his gallery hacked last year. And what do you know – Flickr’s interface is intuitive, fast, and slick. It makes you want to upload your photos. After maxing out the 20MB free upload bandwidth limit one night, I decided it had everything and then some over whatever Gallery setup I would have time to throw together. I handed over the $24.95 for a mothly 2GB of upload bandwidth the following night, and now exactly one week later I’ve maxed it again. That’s 1951 photos. I’ve got another 1200 or so to go ;)

To be honest, and this was explained on my site, the reason why my Gallery got hacked was that I was using an old version that had not been patched properly after several security holes alerts in more recent version.
The people at Gallery are doing an amazing job and it is a really complete and exciting package to work with (especially the new Gallery 2). I just felt like it was time to move on.
Welcome to Flickr!

Hey Matt – yes, Flickr is an awesome service.
I heard a rumour that many services claim the rights to all the photos uploaded on their service. Is this the case with Flickr?

John
