Make Mii @ Mii Station

Update: Well, Shin beat me to it :)  Thanks!

Minja and I were slurping spaghetti last Tuesday when talk turned to
Nintendo’s new game console, Wii.  The Wii lets users create their own
little avatar called a Mii.  For some, after the first few hours of
playing their new Wii and trying to make a Mii of some semblance to
the owner, the process can turn frustrating.  There are thousands of
combinations for choosing hair styles, eyes, and smiles, not to
mention “…you can stretch, you can squeeze, you can do as you
please!”  Minja wondered, “…what if someone wanted a better Mii, and
would pay for it?”

Just weeks before, another friend posted on his blog that he was ready
to pay a small amount to have a better looking Mii of himself than he
could create.  Figuring these independent but identical ideas
colliding before me was not a mere coincidence, I convinced Minja an
initial launch could be done in less than a week.  Cramped in the
extra back room at the end of the hallway in my grandfather’s
apartment, I worked on coding the back-end system, Minja did the
design/css, and Jim helped with wording and optimizing for
Googliciousness.  A Tokyo start-up project in true Valley fashion.

There’s much more that can be added, but we’ll need to gauge the
reception first of course.  Meanwhile, we each have other jobs! :)  So
if you’re one of the lucky few 2mil+ users who got their hands on a
Wii and wants a souped up Mii, or know a lucky Wii owner who could use
one, swing by miistation.com!

Digg! delicious
